(Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。1942年，白山黑水的关东大地上，独立营与日军的一场厮杀，几乎全军覆没；只剩下了牛胜力、关奎、董连山、褚长德、叶殿臣、田广义六个人撤离了战场...... 两年后，死里逃生的营长江雪原找到这六个已回归各自寻常百姓生活的战士，重建独立营，在敌占区与日军大部队展开一次一次的游击战，过程中收编了黑风岭上的匪帮，壮大队伍，与日军一次次展开斗智斗勇的生死较量，在中华大地上谱写一曲荡气回肠的战斗之歌。。
